WL Gore Elkton, Maryland
Description
WL Gore engaged Hodess under a design-assist for the development of a 10,000 sf ISO 7 cleanroom facility in Elkton, Maryland. The project supported the expansion of medical device injection molding operations within a controlled manufacturing environment.
The scope included installation of new cleanroom wall and ceiling systems designed to integrate within the existing facility. Structural support for the ceiling system was provided through a Unistrut and threaded rod framework, with additional splay walls incorporated to satisfy county seismic requirements. The ceiling assembly featured a walkable design with side rail supports to allow for safe service access above the cleanroom.
HC also installed new HEPA filtration units, lighting systems, and cleanroom doors to complete the controlled envelope. The finished space provides a compliant and durable ISO 7 environment tailored to support expanded manufacturing capacity.
